Life Skills & Manners

Life Skills & Manners classes teach the foundations of dog training, making it a great class for owners who are new to training and/or for dogs that are getting settled in a new home, could use a refresher on their manners, or who may not have had any training at all! Suitable for puppies and dogs aged 16 weeks and older.
Where & When:
South Belt, Rossland - 6:00 pm - 22nd January, 2025

Herding Drywork

Build the foundations you need this fall in order to successfully transition to stock in the spring! 

Drywork lessons focus on the pieces of herding that are obedience based. We also go over some basic stock related concepts that the human needs to understand. 

Topics covered include:
*Getting a reliable moving lie down
*All about flanks 
*Look Back
*Pressure bubbles, draws and other concepts
*Responding to cues under distraction
*And so much more! 
Outcome:
On completion of the course you will be ready to head over to Winlaw for on stock lessons with herding expert  Melanie Zarchikoff.

​Agility Foundations

Agility Foundations are the keys to success out on the agility field. 

In this class we will cover 3 basic concepts in agility:
1. Equipment & Equipment Safety 
Foundations that will set up your agility dog for life! 

2. Handling
The human half of the agility and how your natural cues guide your dog. 

​3. Spaces in Between
Preparing dogs for training sessions and competition.
​​Format:
  • In person, 6 x 75 minute classes
  • Agility classes may run longer if there are more than 4 dogs participating
  • 4-6 dog handler teams per class​

Vaccination Requirements 
​Dogs must be up to date (or provide a titre test) for DHPP or equivalent vaccinations for all classes. Bordetella is not required.

Proof of vaccination must be provided before class.
